Kalakari LLC

Privacy Policy

Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Kalakari LLC ("Kalakari," "we," "us," or "our"), a Texas limited liability company, collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit kalakarijewelry.com (the "Site") or contact us about a custom jewelry piece.

Kalakari operates as an online, made-to-order studio. We do not run a retail storefront, and we do not sell your personal information. If you have questions about this policy, email us at hello@kalakarijewelry.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you submit our contact form or email us, we collect the information you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, the type of piece you are interested in, how you heard about us, and anything else you include in your message. During a project we may also collect details needed to design and deliver your piece, such as ring size, shipping address, design references, and payment arrangements handled through our payment provider.

When you submit the contact form, it also automatically includes basic details about how you found us: the website or link that first brought you to the Site (for example, Instagram or a Google search), the page you first arrived on, the page you sent the form from, and how many pages of the Site you have viewed. We use this only to understand which channels lead people to us; it is never shared with Google Analytics or used for advertising.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we collect limited technical information automatically through Google Analytics 4 and our hosting provider. This may include your approximate location (derived from your IP address), device and browser type, referring website, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is used in aggregate to understand how the Site is used.

Information we do not collect

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

How we use information

We rely on your consent, our legitimate interest in operating a small business, and the need to perform a contract with you as the bases for these uses.

How we use your photos and videos

We love sharing the pieces we create. Kalakari reserves the right to photograph and film finished pieces, and to use those photos, videos, and any images, footage, or stories you share with us, on our website, social media, and marketing, unless and until you withdraw that permission in writing (email is fine) — see our Terms of Service.

Cookies and analytics

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies set by Google Analytics to measure traffic and usage. These are considered analytics/performance cookies, not advertising cookies.

The Site also stores a small record in your browser’s local storage of how you first arrived (the referring site or link, the first page you visited, and the date) and a count of pages viewed. This stays on your device and is only sent to us if you submit the contact form. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.

You can limit or block this collection at any time:

Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use the Site or contact us.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only in these limited circumstances:

How long we keep information

We keep inquiry and project information for as long as needed to respond to you, complete and stand behind your piece, and meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations — typically several years after our last contact. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's standard retention settings, which we may adjust from time to time. You can ask us to delete information sooner (see below).

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:

To make a request, email hello@kalakarijewelry.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will verify your request by confirming details associated with your inquiry and will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent where the law allows; we may ask for proof of authorization. See Your Privacy Choices for a summary.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, gives you the rights described above. For the preceding 12 months:

California's "Shine the Light" law: you may request information about disclosures to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please avoid sending full payment card numbers or government identification by email.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International visitors and data transfers

Kalakari is based in the United States. Some of our manufacturing and fulfillment partners are located outside the United States, so information needed to produce your piece may be transferred to and processed in other countries, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By contacting us, you understand that your information will be handled as described in this policy.

Links to other sites

The Site may link to third-party websites (for example, Google's tools or a stone certification lab). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; review their policies separately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
